Fenua Animalia is a law 1901 non-profit association,
it is not a compagny, nor a state-controlled service.

• Who, in French Polynesia, have never seen, from a garbage to an other, wandering a squeletal bitch with the skin bared by plaques due to mange?
• Who, in French Polynesia, have never seen or heared about cardboard boxes aside of the road, or dropped sneakily off at the end of a courtyard or garden, and full of kittens or puppies one or two months old, crying desperately for their mother?

Unless you never go out from your home, it is unfortunately impossible today to answer "me" to these two questions. The sad thing is that anyone seems indifferent appart from numerous "not accustomed" tourists (revealing formula), and the some who won to keep an opened look at this poor and terrific world.
 
 

Try to cure this situation is complex. Bad habits weight like an heavy lead cover on the rare energies trying to rise up against.

Experience shows also that it is illusory to think Good-willing is enough. In other words, to be in charge of animals in distress is a recognised job, requiring a preliminary formation and a supervision, from start.

Here, there is nothing like that today.

Our deepest experience comes from years of everyday continuous work. Of course, at start there were numerous misfits, avoided in the main now, and some reflexes have been taken, but all this knowledge stands on the system of voluntary work. That means that all may vanish from a day to the following.

Under a wet Tropical climate it is hard to build a serious structure, without big precautions and a consistent cashflow. In other words, it is impossible to build a structure without the direct or indirect support of an important part of the population (Pets don't vote, directly).

A way that we found is to be volunteer as Welcome Household, to reduce the crisis.
 
 

The main way, to push the situation to a decent channel, remains to give strength to Associations of Animal Protection, by subscribing: What will mainly make a concern for the decision-makers is the number of voters supporting this kind of struggle. This number shows the vigour or weakness of the interest that people grants to the subject.

To subscribe is mainly to send a message to these decision-makers expressing a will to reach out of this decline and this shameful resignation in front of the present situation reserved to Pets and those who cope with their distress.

It is easy to understand, then, that it is not necessary to participate "on fields" to actually contribute to change things,and even, that it is not required to love Pets.

As well, not to join reinforce the general easy-going, participate to the present collective resignation, and, in this case, don't be surprised - and don't complain - if you are witness or victime of accidents or horrors.
